Cringilla vs Woonona
Woonona suffered a 4 - 0 loss away to Cringilla on Friday Night and will now need to dig deep turning into this weekends clash with Wollongong United. Crinigilla took the lead from a freekick inside the Woonona penatly for their first goal, and with Woonona pushing for a reply, the game opened up and Crinigilla pounced to punish the Sharks. In the earlier game Crinigilla defeated Woonona 3 - 1. After 12 rounds and with a game in hand Woonona sit in 8th spot on 15 points just 1 win outside the top 5. Division One outplayed Balgownie to run out 4 - 1 winners in a game where the Sharks could easily have put on a higher score against the visitors. Sharkies add Ben Blake to squad - Tuesday, June 02, 2009
The Sharkies have strengthened their playing squad with the addition of ex Wollongong Wolves captain & local identity Ben Blake. Ben had retired from first class football at the end of 2008 after leading the Wolves to state cup victory but was lured back to the park by good friend and Sharkie coach Chris Calderbank Park. Ben should provide the Sharkies with a little more experience & help guide the younger players throughout the remainder of the season.
